Accessible Stays

At Grove of Narberth, we are passionate about ensuring that everyone can use and enjoy our facilities. We always aim for the highest standards of personal service and expect all our staff to anticipate and meet guests’ needs, whatever they may be. If we need to adjust to meet a guest’s requirements, we aim to do so discreetly.

We trust that our guests understand that not all parts of these historic buildings, which date back to the 15th century, can be completely accessible. However, during its restoration and remodelling, every care was taken to ensure good access for all whilst protecting the character of this special place.

The information is kept up to date, but as preferences always change, we would appreciate your feedback to help us continue to be as accessible as possible. Our staff are all aware of these issues and are happy to discuss them at all times.

Our accessible bedroom

Our Cottage Signature Suite, Bramble, is one of our most comfortable suites and is fully accessible.

This suite is conveniently located on the ground floor of Poyer’s Cottage, which is linked to the main house via a ramped access. Bramble Signature Suite is also the closest room to our reception for the comfort of our guests.

The Bramble Suite is adapted to meet full accessibility requirements, featuring wide doors, panic alarms in the bathroom, a wheelchair accessible bath with transfer area, a wet room monsoon shower, and toilet.

Ramped access is also provided through French doors onto a private garden terrace for your enjoyment.

Bramble was designed from the outset to be both accessible and special, not adapted as an afterthought, but considered as a signature suite in its own right. It reflects our belief that accessibility should sit naturally within a well-designed, comfortable and relaxed stay.

Relaxing and dining

Background music is played in all the public areas of the hotel. We offer full waiter service and will cater for any special needs upon request.

Our Chefs are able to cater for any special dietary or allergy requirements that are required with notice. Please ensure that you inform our reservations team of your requirement either at time of booking or in advance of your arrival.

Not all ingredients are detailed in our menus therefore if you would like more information about the ingredients used please ask our waiting staff who will be happy to assist.

More Accessibility Information

Prior to your arrival caret-down

Enquiries and reservations may be made online, by phone or by email. If you do have any accessibility requirements we would be happy to advise you on the best accommodation to suit your needs.

Should you require a taxi to the hotel from the local train stations we use a reliable local company on a regular basis and we would be delighted to book them on your behalf. They do have vehicles suitable for wheelchair users if required.

Flooring caret-down

Please bear in mind that due to the age of the hotel, floor levels do vary slightly and the type of floor covering is a mixture of flagstones, wooden flooring, carpet and rugs. Where floors are polished we endeavour to use a non-slip polish to minimise the risk of slips, trips and falls. However, please be aware of possible changes in floor levels and textures as you walk around our hotel and premises.

Lighting caret-down

The hotel corridors and public areas are well lit.

If you are arriving after dark then please bear in mind that, in keeping with the hotel surroundings and to keep guests disturbances to a minimum, the outside lighting is kept minimal. Porters and Duty Managers can assist you with torches upon request.

Assistance caret-down

Our reputation for outstanding customer service means that our Duty Managers and porters are able to help with accessibility between buildings and rooms and we aim to ensure that nothing is too much trouble.

Arrival at Grove caret-down

We have designated disable parking spaces at the front of the hotel near the drop off area. The drop off area is 30 yards from the front door if you would like to be dropped off closer to the door then a bollard can be removed on request to allow your vehicle to access right up to the front door.

The front of the hotel is accessed via the original wooden porch which has two steps, a ramp for which can be provided by our reception team on request. This gives access to the rest of the hotel and staff members are ready to assist anyone with mobility problems or in a wheelchair.

Porters and Duty Managers are available at all times and we are more than happy to help you with your luggage and will collect it from your car and deliver it to your room if preferred.
