Quintessentially Welsh Accommodation For Eisteddfod Y Garreg Las 2026

In August 2026, the National Eisteddfod of Wales returns to Pembrokeshire for the first time in more than twenty years. Known as Eisteddfod y Garreg Las, the festival will take place from 1–8 August 2026 in north Pembrokeshire, near the Llantwd area, marking a significant and celebratory moment for the county.

The 2026 Eisteddfod is particularly special, marking 850 years since the very first Eisteddfod was held at Cardigan Castle. It’s a powerful homecoming for one of Wales’s most important cultural traditions, bringing together language, music, literature, performance and art in a week-long celebration of Welsh identity.

The Eisteddfod Returns To Pembrokeshire

The National Eisteddfod is Europe’s largest cultural festival, with a history that stretches back centuries. Its return to Pembrokeshire reconnects the festival with a county deeply rooted in Welsh culture and community life.

In May 2025, Narberth hosted the proclamation ceremony, officially announcing the arrival of the Eisteddfod in Pembrokeshire. The town came together for a large procession and ‘Gorsedd’ (the Welsh word for throne) ceremony, a proud and joyful moment that marked the beginning of the countdown to the main festival.

Staying At Grove Of Narberth During Eisteddfod Week

For those travelling to Pembrokeshire to attend the Eisteddfod, Grove of Narberth offers a welcoming and characterful place to stay, deeply Welsh in spirit and well suited to guests looking to balance the energy of the Maes with calm, comfortable surroundings.

Grove is located near Narberth in the south of the county and is approximately 30–40 miles from the main Eisteddfod site near Llantwd, with a typical driving time of 45–60 minutes, depending on traffic and route. While not within walking distance of the Maes, Grove offers something many Eisteddfod visitors value: a peaceful base to return to after a full day immersed in festival life.

Set within mature gardens and woodland, our luxury country house hotel combines individually designed rooms in Pembrokeshire, warm hospitality and gourmet cuisine shaped by Welsh produce, the seasons and our kitchen gardens.

Travel To Eisteddfod Y Garreg Las From Narberth

As with all touring Eisteddfod sites, travel arrangements are usually confirmed closer to the event. Visitors to the 2026 festival should expect a mix of car travel, park-and-ride facilities, shuttle services and limited public transport, with local traffic management in place around the Maes.

From Narberth, travel is likely to be easiest by car, taxi, or organised transport, with detailed guidance expected to be published on the official Eisteddfod website nearer the time.

A Welsh Place To Stay, Shaped By Culture And Place

At Grove of Narberth, Welsh culture is part of everyday life. From the language sprinkled around the house to the art on the walls and the ingredients on the plate, the hotel reflects a deep respect for Wales, its landscapes and its creative traditions.

Staying at Grove during National Eisteddfod 2026 offers the chance to experience Pembrokeshire in two complementary ways: the shared celebration and creativity of the Maes, and the quieter rhythm of a Welsh country house rooted in its surroundings. If you want to see more of Pembrokeshire during your stay, then the local experiences that we can offer are a good place to start. Get in touch with our team if you have any questions or want to book an experience.

Planning Your Stay For National Eisteddfod 2026

The National Eisteddfod draws visitors from across Wales and beyond, and accommodation across Pembrokeshire fills quickly during festival week. If you’re planning to attend Eisteddfod y Garreg Las 2026 and are looking for a refined, intrinsically Welsh place to stay within driving distance of the festival, we recommend booking early.

We look forward to welcoming Eisteddfod visitors to Grove of Narberth and sharing this landmark cultural moment for Pembrokeshire and for Wales.
