Grown-Up Escapes and a Little Bit of Magic at Grove

For many people, holidays are shaped by the school calendar. Half terms and longer breaks become the moments when a change of scenery finally feels possible.

But even during the school holiday periods, there are still places where the pace slows down and the countryside works its quiet magic, and Grove of Narberth is one of those special places.

Arriving at Grove always brings a feeling of escape. The quiet turn into the drive, the house appearing ahead through the trees, and the sense that the everyday has been left somewhere behind you. Hidden in the rolling hills outside Narberth, surrounded by meadows, woodland and gardens, our boutique hotel in Pembrokeshire has long been a place where guests come to breathe in the fresh air, relax into thoughtful luxury and feel the magic of being somewhere truly special.

A countryside retreat for grown-up getaways

For many guests, Grove of Narberth is first and foremost a place for a romantic Pembrokeshire escape or a quiet countryside retreat.

Even during the school holidays, couples often find themselves drawn here simply because that is when their schedules allow a break. Yet the atmosphere across the house always remains calm, elegant and wonderfully relaxed.

Our cottage suites in Narberth are particularly special for those seeking a little extra privacy. Set within the grounds and featuring their own outdoor space, they offer the feeling of a secluded countryside hideaway while still being just a short stroll from the main house.

Imagine slow mornings with coffee outside, afternoon walks through the gardens, and returning from a day out at the coast for a relaxed being thoroughly looked after by our team. It’s these simple moments that help our guests reconnect and unwind.

A little bit of heaven, tucked quietly into the Pembrokeshire countryside

When school holidays bring the whole family together

While Grove is widely known as a romantic destination, we are also the perfect base for family holidays in Pembrokeshire .

A number of our rooms can accommodate sofa beds for younger guests, allowing parents and children to stay comfortably together while still enjoying the charm of the house. We also offer complimentary children’s teepees (subject to availability) in your room for our youngest guests, perfect for little ones to enjoy a cosy and fun space of their own. Outside, the gardens offer plenty of space for little explorers too.

Pembrokeshire itself is a wonderful place to explore as a family. Wide sandy beaches, coastal wildlife and the famous Pembrokeshire Coast Path are all within easy reach, making it easy to fill the days with fresh air and adventure.

Stays made for you and your dog

For those travelling with dogs, Grove also offers a small collection of dog-friendly suites, making it easy to enjoy Pembrokeshire together. From garden suites with open outdoor spaces to peaceful rooms with terrace and garden access, these dog friendly stays in Pembrokeshire are designed to be as comfortable for pets as they are for their owners. Thoughtful touches including doggy towels, a blanket and treats help make every stay feel special, with a doggy dining menu also available on request.

Evenings that bring everyone together

Wherever your day has taken you, evenings at Grove often return to the table.

In Fernery, our 4 AA Rosette restaurant in Narberth, Executive Chef Douglas Balish and his team create a tasting menu shaped by the seasons and the remarkable produce found across Pembrokeshire. Thoughtful cooking, expressive flavours, and carefully curated wine pairings make it one of the most memorable dining experiences in West Wales. Fernery welcomes children over the age of 12 who enjoy a tasting menu experience, as we don’t offer a children’s menu in this restaurant.

For something more relaxed, the Artisan Rooms Brasserie offers a welcoming setting for an unhurried dinner, with dishes that celebrate the same exceptional ingredients in a more informal style. Children are welcome to dine in the Artisan Restaurant before 8pm, and we have a special menu available on request for them.

Both these quintessentially Welsh restaurants share the same philosophy. Warm hospitality, beautiful food and the simple pleasure of gathering together.

A place to escape the everyday

School holidays can mean busy destinations and packed itineraries in many places, but sometimes the greatest luxury is simply having space to slow down.

Whether you’re escaping as a couple for a few peaceful days in the countryside or visiting with children to explore the beaches and landscapes of Pembrokeshire, Grove offers that rare balance. Fresh air, warm hospitality and the feeling that you’ve discovered somewhere quietly special.

A little bit of heaven, waiting in the Pembrokeshire countryside.
